Wysh List: Seven teams that could win Nikita Kucherov derby

Tampa Bay Lightning star Nikita Kucherov has requested a trade, shocking the hockey community and indicating he will not sign a new contract after the current season. This development raises concerns for the Lightning, as losing the Hart Trophy winner could impact their chances for a Stanley Cup. Kucherov's trade request comes after limited contract discussions with the team, leading to speculation about the underlying issues in his relationship with the organization.

The Lightning’s general manager, Julien BriseBois, has faced criticism for how the situation has unfolded, as Kucherov's request seems to reflect a breakdown in communication and respect. While the team has publicly stated they have no intention of trading Kucherov, the situation remains fluid. Should Kucherov leave, several teams, including the Montreal Canadiens, are seen as potential candidates to pursue him, given their strong management and roster fit for the player.
