WNBA's Houston Comets unveil new logos amid trademark filing
The Houston Comets have officially unveiled their new logos, marking a significant moment in the franchise's return to the WNBA. This reveal followed a week of anticipation on social media and coincided with the appearance of eight trademark applications for the logos on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website.
The trademark applications were filed by WNBA Enterprises LLC and included four distinct logos, each with two applications for different uses. One logo features a circular design with a stylized letter H and a basketball, while the primary logo showcases the stylized H without the circular border. The logos were presented in blue and red during the announcement. Additionally, a trademark application for the name 'Houston Comets' was abandoned by TSTM Holdings LLC just hours before the logo reveal, clearing a potential trademark conflict for the franchise.
