Who has won MLB World Series MVP? All-time winners list

The World Series MVP award, recognizing the standout player in baseball's championship series, has a rich history dating back to its inception in 1955. Over the years, only a select few players have achieved the honor multiple times, including Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Reggie Jackson, and Corey Seager. The award has been shared in two instances, with both the 1981 and 2001 World Series featuring multiple MVPs.

In the recent 2026 World Series, William Contreras was named MVP after a remarkable performance, which included a batting average of .381 and impressive defensive skills. This marked a significant achievement for Contreras, who became the eighth catcher to receive the award. Additionally, he joined a unique group of players who have won both the World Baseball Classic and the World Series in the same year, as Venezuela clinched its first World Baseball Classic title earlier in March 2026.
