Where do 2026 champion Valkyries rank among every WNBA title team?

The Golden State Valkyries clinched the 2026 WNBA championship in their second season, concluding the league's 30th season with a thrilling Game 7 victory. Known for their defensive prowess, the Valkyries had the lowest scoring average in Finals history for a champion, but their strong defensive strategy and teamwork propelled them to success. They became one of only five teams to score fewer points than their Finals opponent while still winning the title.

In the Finals, the Valkyries, who entered as the No. 2 seed, secured three home victories and one on the road. Gabby Williams emerged as a standout player, averaging 21 points per game during the playoffs and earning the Finals MVP award for her performance, including a crucial 30-point game in the decisive match. While the Valkyries may not rank among the top ten champions historically, their commitment to defense and teamwork has solidified their place among the league's elite title-winning teams.
