Tracking all the WNBA coaching changes for 2027

The WNBA offseason is underway with two head coaching vacancies following the conclusion of the 2026 season. The Los Angeles Sparks have parted ways with Lynne Roberts after two seasons without a playoff appearance, while the New York Liberty have also dismissed Chris DeMarco after a season marked by high expectations and a playoff exit.

Roberts, who took over in 2024, struggled to lead the Sparks to success, finishing her tenure with a record of 37-50. Meanwhile, DeMarco's time with the Liberty was characterized by a mix of achievements, including a Commissioner's Cup victory, but ultimately ended in disappointment after a semifinal sweep. Both teams are now looking to appoint new coaches before the start of free agency in 2027.
