Source: Fever hires Blazers' Sheri Sam as assistant GM

The Indiana Fever have appointed Sheri Sam as their new assistant general manager, according to a source. Sam previously worked with the Portland Trail Blazers as a scouting manager, a role she held since 2022. Her extensive experience includes a decade of playing in the WNBA, during which she secured championships with the Seattle Storm and the Detroit Shock.

The Fever are looking to enhance their scouting and analytics capabilities, and bringing Sam on board is part of that strategy. Currently, the team is in transition, as they are still searching for a president and general manager following recent leadership changes. Last season, the Fever reached the playoffs but were eliminated in the first round by the Las Vegas Aces, marking their third consecutive year finishing as the No. 6 seed.
