Smotherman wins Bermuda Championship, earns U.S. Open berth

Austin Smotherman secured victory at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, winning in a playoff against Séamus Power after the final round was canceled due to unplayable conditions caused by strong winds. This marks Smotherman's second consecutive win in the FedEx Cup Fall events, following his triumph at the Bank of Utah Championship three weeks prior.

The playoff took place on the par-3 16th hole, where both players made par on the first two attempts. Smotherman ultimately emerged victorious on the third playoff hole, earning him a spot in the U.S. Open next year at Pebble Beach. Meanwhile, Power's runner-up finish ensured he retains his PGA Tour card through 2027, moving him up in the rankings. This event also marked the second time this year that a playoff was held on a Monday due to weather disruptions.
