Sergio Garcia leaving LIV Golf, returning to DP World Tour
Sergio Garcia has announced his departure from the LIV Golf League to return to the DP World Tour, expressing his excitement about rejoining a tour that has been significant to his career. The 46-year-old golfer, who has served as captain of the Fireballs GC team since joining LIV Golf in June 2022, stated that he is also considering a potential return to the PGA Tour in the future.
Garcia's decision comes amidst a wave of golfers opting not to participate in LIV 2.0, with several notable names already confirming their absence. He had previously resigned from the DP World Tour in May 2023 but sought reinstatement after paying fines for competing in conflicting events. Looking ahead, Garcia is eager to return to Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters, where he faced challenges during his last appearance, and he aims to qualify for the European team in the upcoming Ryder Cup.
