No. 1 2028 overall recruit Brysen Wright picks Miami, reclassifies to 2027
Five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright, who is ranked as the top overall recruit in the 2028 class by ESPN, has committed to the University of Miami and plans to reclassify to join the team in 2027. Wright, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound athlete from Jacksonville, Florida, chose Miami over Florida and Texas. He is expected to sign with the Hurricanes in December, becoming a significant addition to coach Mario Cristobal's recruiting efforts.
Wright is currently a junior at Mandarin High School and has made a strong impression with his performance, accumulating 77 receptions for 1,629 yards and 18 touchdowns in his first two varsity seasons. His decision to commit early was reportedly influenced by the success of another Miami wide receiver, Malachi Toney, who had a standout season after reclassifying. With Wright's commitment, Miami has now secured two five-star recruits for the 2027 class, enhancing their position in the current recruiting cycle.
