Nashville ties Miami's single-season points record, ends Red Bulls playoff push
Nashville SC secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over the New York Red Bulls, thanks to two own goals and a last-minute header from Sam Surridge. This win allowed Nashville to match Inter Miami's MLS record of 74 points in a single season, with one game left to play. The team has now extended its unbeaten streak to nine games and finished the season unbeaten at home, marking a remarkable 15-0-2 record at Geodis Park.
The Red Bulls initially led the match with two goals, including one from teenager Julian Hall. However, Nashville responded with an own goal from Tim Parker just before halftime, followed by another own goal from Julian Bazan in the second half. Surridge's late goal sealed the win, while Cristian Espinoza notched his 15th assist of the season. The defeat eliminated the Red Bulls from playoff contention, while Nashville prepares to face Cincinnati on Decision Day, aiming to set a new points record.
