Nashville SC wins 1st MLS Supporters' Shield title, eyes points record

Nashville SC achieved a historic milestone by winning the 2026 MLS Supporters' Shield title after defeating CF Montréal 2-0. This victory marked the first time the club has secured this trophy, with goals from Sam Surridge and captain Hany Mukhtar sealing the win. Surridge opened the scoring in the 51st minute, and Mukhtar added a second goal in the 76th minute, ensuring Nashville's dominance in the match.

With 70 points from 31 games, Nashville holds a significant lead in the standings, making it impossible for other teams to catch up with just three matches left in the regular season. The club's performance has been impressive, leading the league in wins, fewest goals conceded, and goal differential. Nashville's success comes after a diligent effort since joining MLS as an expansion team in 2020, and the team looks to continue its strong form as it prepares for the playoffs and aims to break the points record set by Inter Miami in 2024.
