Mexico City Grand Prix: Lando Norris edges out Kimi Antonelli in final practice by one millisecond
Lando Norris narrowly topped the final practice session at the Mexico City Grand Prix, finishing just one millisecond ahead of Kimi Antonelli, who is currently leading the drivers' championship. Throughout the session, both drivers frequently exchanged the top positions, but it was Norris who ultimately set the fastest time. Charles Leclerc secured third place, while Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen rounded out the top five, with Verstappen expressing frustration over his car's braking performance.
Antonelli has the opportunity to clinch the championship title this weekend by finishing ninth or better in the race, provided that neither Lewis Hamilton nor George Russell wins. Hamilton finished sixth in practice, trailing Norris, while Russell was positioned further back. Verstappen will face a one-place grid penalty due to a collision with Liam Lawson during Friday's practice. In a surprising move, Haas announced that Esteban Ocon would be replaced by Ryo Hirakawa for the remainder of the weekend, though no reasons were provided for this decision.
