Kimi Antonelli's historic F1 title: Every record broken and milestone reached
Kimi Antonelli has made history in Formula 1 by becoming the youngest world champion ever, achieving this remarkable feat in just his second season with Mercedes. At 20 years and 68 days old, he surpassed the previous record held by Sebastian Vettel, who won his first title at 23 years and 134 days. Antonelli's championship victory adds to a series of records he has already set, including the most wins by an Italian in a single season, with seven victories surpassing Alberto Ascari's previous record.
In addition to his championship win, Antonelli is notable for being the first driver since 2009 to win the title after a winless previous season. He has also become the third Italian driver to secure an F1 title, following in the footsteps of Nino Farina and Ascari. His impressive turnaround from seventh place in the standings last season to champion this year marks one of the largest improvements in F1 history. With several races still remaining, Antonelli has the potential to break even more records this season.
