Kimi Antonelli makes F1 history as youngest world champion with maiden title
Kimi Antonelli has made history by becoming the youngest world champion in Formula 1, achieving this milestone at just 20 years old. He secured his first title after finishing third at the Mexico City Grand Prix, marking a significant achievement in only his second year in the sport. Antonelli's victory ends a 73-year wait for Italy to have a third Formula 1 world champion, following the successes of early legends like Giuseppe Farina and Alberto Ascari.
After a challenging rookie season, Antonelli's journey to the championship began with his first win at the Chinese Grand Prix in March. He then went on to dominate the season with a remarkable streak of five consecutive victories, including a memorable win at the Italian Grand Prix, where he made a stunning comeback from 19th on the grid. His consistent performance throughout the season allowed him to secure the championship with four races remaining, solidifying his place in F1 history.
