Alexander Volkanovski could face a new challenge after UFC 333

Following UFC 333, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski successfully defended his title against Movsar Evloev, finishing the fight in just two rounds. This victory opens up new opportunities for Volkanovski, who may consider moving up to lightweight, a division where he has previously faced challenges. Meanwhile, bantamweight champion Petr Yan also retained his title, defeating Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision, which could lead to a potential rematch with Sean O'Malley, who has a controversial win over Yan from 2022.

Both champions are now contemplating their next steps, with Volkanovski potentially eyeing a fight against Charles Oliveira, contingent on Oliveira's upcoming title defense. For Yan, O'Malley appears to be the most compelling next opponent, although there are discussions about a possible rematch with Song Yadong. As for Evloev, he may face Pat Sabatini as he looks to rebound from his first career loss. The landscape of the UFC's featherweight and bantamweight divisions is shifting, with several intriguing matchups on the horizon.
